More about us:
Alan Keckritz, (the Owner of M*S*P*G) has been playing, servicing & tuning pianos since 1986, Randy Frame (Retail Manager & Head Luthier) has been playing and servicing guitars since 1984. With a combined total of over half a century of experience, thier expertise serves clients throughout Middle TN, as well as southeastern United States.
Alan; “We don’t simply play music we love it! We treat every instrument we sell and service with the same thorough care we would give our own and we strive to treat our clients as more than simply customers, they’re family. Our goal is to help people who love to play music sound and play their best and our reputation speaks to that. Having a good reputation in this industry requires more than a storefront and a warehouse of merchandise to sell, it requires a committment to the client to offer the highest quality instruments, service and repairs that money can buy. It’s a labor of love."
It’s clear from the moment you talk with the guys at Mid-state Piano Gallery that they genuinely love what they do. Whether it’s pairing the right client with just the right instrument, rebuilding an instrument that’s been in the family for a generation or more, or setting up an instruments playing action and profile to reach it’s full potential. If you want it done right, Randy and Alan are experts in thier field.
Randy; “When it comes to being successful, you must pay attention to not only the instrument you're building or servicing but you also must ask critical questions of the player to determine how each client plays. Are your a strummer or a finger-picker? Do you like a stiffer or more slinky action? What gauge strings do you prefer? What type of music do you play? Do you often use different tunings? What about your volume, tone and feel? Are you happy with all these aspects of your instrument and if not, what would you like to change? Every player is as unique as their instrument and there are far too many cookie cutter service shops out there that think a guitar, is a guitar, is a guitar, the bottom line is; you must take what you do seriously enough to believe that it’s not just making money for a job that makes you a professional instrument techician or builder but rather, it’s when your client succeeds or exceeds in their music goals that defines your success as their technician. If you love what you do then doing it to the best of your ability becomes second nature. Ultimately, a musical instrument that's never played, no matter how beautiful or skilfully made, is the embodiment of unfulfilled purpose and the most pitiable of objects”
